Meet Dr. Razack

Dr. Nizam Razack, MD, JD, FAANS, FACS is a nationally recognized neurosurgeon, attorney, legal scholar, educator, professor, healthcare leader, and business builder who has spent decades solving complex, high-stakes problems where precision, accountability, and results matter.

As Founder and President of the Spine & Brain Neurosurgery Center, Dr. Razack built a distinguished career defined by innovation, discipline, leadership, service, and life-changing medical care. A board-certified brain and spine surgeon, he trained at some of America’s premier medical institutions, including the Mayo Clinic, M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, Rancho Los Amigos Medical Center, and the University of Miami.

Dr. Razack completed three elite post-doctoral fellowships:

• Reconstructive & Complex Spine Surgery Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minnesota
• Neurosurgical Oncology M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, Houston, Texas
• Orthopedic Spine Deformities Rancho Los Amigos Medical Center, Los Angeles, California

He completed his neurosurgery residency at the University of Miami and earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo in 1990.

Throughout his career, Dr. Razack has treated thousands of patients, led complex surgical teams, mentored future physicians, and helped train the next generation of surgeons and healthcare leaders. He previously served as Chairman of the Department of Neurological Surgery at Orlando Health and continues to teach as an Assistant Clinical Professor of Neurosurgery at the University of Central Florida College of Medicine. He has also served as an Assistant Professor of Neurological Surgery, Orthopedics, and Rehabilitation at the University of Miami and as a neurosurgical educator at Barry University.

In addition to medicine, Dr. Razack is a professor who teaches healthcare law and finance, giving him a rare understanding of the healthcare system from both the medical and legal sides. He understands the challenges facing patients, physicians, hospitals, small businesses, and working families because he has lived them in the real world not from inside a political bubble. As Dr. Razack often says, “That’s what surgeons do. We fix things.”

Dr. Razack’s story is also an American Dream story. Born in India, he legally immigrated to the United States with his family at the age of three. His family arrived with only $20 in their pocket, strong faith, determination, and the hope of opportunity. At age five, his parents enrolled him in Catholic school in Buffalo, New York, where he learned English by reading the Bible and embracing the values of faith, discipline, education, hard work, and respect. He often jokes that he also learned quickly not to upset a Catholic nun carrying “disciplinary rulers” through the classroom halls.

From a young immigrant child unable to speak English to becoming a neurosurgeon, attorney, educator, professor, husband, father, and healthcare leader, Dr. Razack believes the opportunities he was given in America changed the course of his life. That experience is why he proudly supports America First, the MAGA movement, and policies that put American workers, families, faith, freedom, opportunity, and constitutional principles first.

Dr. Razack is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, a Fellow of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, and a Diplomate of the American Board of Neurological Surgery. He remains active in the Florida Medical Association and numerous professional medical organizations.

A 26-year resident of Florida’s 11th Congressional District, devoted husband of 31 years, and proud father of five, Dr. Razack brings real-world leadership forged in operating rooms, classrooms, boardrooms, and the community not career politics.

Unlike many career politicians in Washington, Dr. Razack has spent his life making difficult decisions where accountability matters, results matter, and excuses do not. Deep Brain Stimulation is one of the most sophisticated procedures in functional neurosurgery, requiring extraordinary precision in the placement of electrodes within targeted regions of the brain. By pioneering the use of robotic guidance technology for DBS surgery, Dr. Razack helped demonstrate how advanced robotics could improve surgical accuracy, efficiency, safety, and patient outcomes.

Following the historic procedure, Dr. Razack successfully performed additional robotically guided DBS surgeries, further validating the technology and helping pave the way for broader adoption of robotic-assisted navigation systems in neurosurgery.
